Since her early teens, Tracy Symons Smith has used songwriting and playing guitar as a way to process life through all its stages. Most of her tunes are gentle reflections of how we move through these moments and offer opportunities for sharing common experiences.
Michael Dayvid is a self-styled Adventure Folk artist. His original music includes everything from tender acoustic love songs to epic, cinematic ballads.
I call my music folk-rock, although it varies quite a bit. As far as writing style, I usually come up with a melody and the musical framework first, and then I either go to my book of lyrics for ideas or just make the lyrics up as I go. I'm a guitarist first and a songwriter secondly, so when I play live I usually do a lot of improvising/soloing.
Georgia Ruth is an original singer songwriter with a powerful roots inspired voice that blends Folk, Americana, Blues and Jazz in a combination that seems natural and inspired.
A Wall St refuge, Patrick Cleary has spent the last 20+ years playing music and organizing music events such as The Humboldt Folklife Festival. He has performed with groups as diverse as Tofu N Chitlins, the Pilot Rock Ramblers, Wild Iris & the Weeds, and is currently part of That Buckin’ String Band. He was the first host of the Folklife Songwriter Night and is pleased to return to that role.
