Blue Ox May Day Faire 05, and move
After 31 years, Blue Ox celebrates the exciting move to its next home! The last public celebration at its current location will take place this Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine and the HFS is supporting the Blue Ox in efforts to put together a fabulous day full of music.
The fourth annual May Day Living History and Artisans Faire is a benefit for KKDS-FM, "Blue Ox Youth Radio for Humboldt Bay," the low-wattage radio station being started by Blue Ox students to serve and educate young people in the Humboldt Bay area. Old-timey and bluegrass string band music all day with Compost Mountain Boys, Huckleberry Flint, Second Hand Band, and Wrangletown, plus the "Old-Timey and Bluegrass All-Star Hootenanny" with a lineup of super-pickers not to be missed! Also featured will be the award-winning barbershop quartet, Mirth First, as well as the Red Hat Kazoo Orchestra.
